The Lamb of God

The Lamb of God

An Epistle on the Nature of YHWH

To the beloved in faith,
grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of YHWH, the Eternal One, who was and is and is to come, the Almighty. Let us now consider His nature, transcendent and infinite, for the glory of His name and the deepening of our worship.

The Transcendence and Eternity of YHWH

Before there was time, space, or matter—before the beginning itself—YHWH existed. He dwelt in absolute transcendence, in the fullness of His own being, needing nothing and lacking nothing. Eternity unfolded before Him like a scroll. He does not move through time as we do, bound by sequence, but sees all moments—past, present, and future—simultaneously and perfectly. The prophet declared, "Known to God are all His works from the beginning of the world" (Acts 15:18). He is the Alpha and the Omega, the One who calls the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10).

YHWH cannot be bored, for His mind encompasses all possibilities: every permutation of every conceivable thing branching into infinite dimensions of potential. What is impossible to us is nothing before Him, for the One who is omniscient also comprehends the infinite. Yet from this infinite field of possibilities, He decreed the path of history, choosing what would be to the praise of His glory.

YHWH in His Triune Nature

YHWH exists as a tri-unity:

  1. God Almighty (the Father): The Source of all being, the fountain of divine life and will.
  2. The Word (the Son): His everlasting Image, the living expression of His glory, eternally begotten of the Father, yet co-equal in power and essence.
  3. The Holy Spirit: The shared life force of the Almighty and the Word, proceeding from them both, yet distinct in personality.

These three are one in essence, eternally co-existing and mutually indwelling. The Word is forever "toward" the Father, as the Greek text of John 1:1 reveals:

  • Ἐν ἀρχῇ ἦν ὁ λόγος, καὶ ὁ λόγος ἦν πρὸς τὸν θεόν, καὶ θεὸς ἦν ὁ λόγος (John 1:1).
  • Translation: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was toward God, and the Word was God."

The Word eternally reflects the Almighty, doing all the Father shows Him through the Holy Spirit. As Jesus testified, "The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do" (John 5:19).

The Eternal Salvation Plan

Before creation itself, YHWH planned the framework of salvation. He beheld the Lamb of God slain before the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8). In His foreknowledge, He saw the fall of humanity, yet His mercy triumphed over judgment. The Almighty purposed that the Word would take on flesh, redeeming those who were lost, for "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son" (John 3:16).

The Word as the Voice and Manifestation of YHWH

Whenever we encounter God speaking or appearing in Scripture, it is the Word who speaks and acts.

  • In Genesis, the Word declared, "Let there be light," and light was (Genesis 1:3).
  • When YHWH walked in the garden, seeking Adam, it was the Word who called, "Where are you?" (Genesis 3:9).
  • To Abraham, it was the Word who appeared, making covenant and promising descendants as numerous as the stars (Genesis 15).
  • The angel of YHWH, who led Israel out of Egypt, was the Word (Jude 1:5). He is the Commander of YHWH’s armies, whom Joshua worshiped without rebuke (Joshua 5:13-15).

The prophets beheld Him:

  • Isaiah saw Him seated on a throne, high and lifted up, and declared, "My eyes have seen the King, YHWH of hosts!" (Isaiah 6:5).
  • Jeremiah felt His touch, as the Word stretched out His hand and placed His words in the prophet’s mouth (Jeremiah 1:9).

The Almighty has always acted through the Word, His power personified. The Holy Spirit, in turn, empowered the Word’s ministry and testified of Him through the prophets, as John bore witness: "He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure" (John 3:34).

The Incarnation of the Word

In the fullness of time, the Word became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14). The eternal God, who cannot be contained, took on human flesh and bones. He did so to fulfill the salvation plan decreed before time. The Lamb willingly yielded His life on the cross, establishing an eternal basis for communion with YHWH. By His resurrection, He demonstrated the full power of God, reanimating His lifeless body and giving us a living hope (1 Peter 1:3).

This same Jesus will return, gloriously demonstrating that He is YHWH. Zechariah declares, "They will look on Me, whom they have pierced" (Zechariah 12:10). On that day, His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, splitting it in two (Zechariah 14:4). Isaiah proclaims His vengeance and victory (Isaiah 63). The Almighty will be glorified in His Son, and every knee will bow (Philippians 2:10-11).

The Spirit’s Witness

The Holy Spirit, proceeding from the Father and the Son, empowers and testifies. Though prophets and angels may act by His power, only YHWH bears the Spirit without measure. He glorifies the Son and makes known the will of the Father. Through the Spirit, we are sealed for the day of redemption, as He draws us into the eternal fellowship of YHWH.

Conclusion

Beloved, let us marvel at the infinite majesty of YHWH. He is the Almighty, whose plans cannot fail, the Word, who reveals the Father, and the Spirit, who sanctifies and empowers. From eternity to eternity, He is God, and His purposes endure forever. Amen.

An oracle of YHWH--the King of Kings:

I am he, the one who was and who is and is coming; behold I have put in motion my will--by the hand of the Lamb who alone can break the seals of the scroll;I have always been, I will always be--I always am; there is none like me.

You can not comprehend me, I have always been and always will be. Your experiences of time allow you to experience me; I saw all this before it ever was--I see it now; and even from an eternity beyond now--I still see it as I observe my children.

We three are one; YHWH is one.

The Logos has always been with me, my Spirit has always been with me--we always are; they are me--I am them; we are one--I am One.

I am in them, they are in me.

My church, my children, I tell this to you directly so you know that I am he. My image, the Christ, he is the Word of God; the embodiment of all I am--he will return soon to rule. He will rule on my throne, and will have with him a steel rod to break his enemies with; and he will rule over all in justice. Seek no other. I am the fountain of living waters, I am the beginning and the end. I am he who provides for you. I come to you at the end of the age--to demonstrate to all for all time--that there is one like me. I am he who was, who is and is coming. I come to establish my everlasting dominion. I come to bring peace. I come to bring righteousness.

If you overcome, you will rule with him; you will sit on his throne with him. You will sit on my throne with me.

My children, come.
